Apothic Wines has created a cold-brew-infused red wine called “Apothic Brew”. A winemaker at the company who is as obsessed with cold-brew as we are, came up with the idea and said of the coffee-wine mashup QUOTE,” Last year during the long hours of harvest, I joined the cold brew craze myself. Quickly, I realized that many of the characteristics in cold brew coffee and red wine naturally complement each other.”
And thus, after some time experimenting with what kind of red blends would best go with the flavor of cold brew coffee, Apothic Brew was born.
Side note, where to I apply to be the official taste tester for this company?
Apothic's Director of Marketing said of the creation QUOTE, “We've always sought to break the mold to bring our fans products we know they will love. Apothic Brew is a game changer that offers the best of both worlds – cold brew and wine – and I can't wait for people to try it.”
Cosmo magazine writer Danielle Tullo got to try Apothic Brew during an early taste test, and she said of it QUOTE, “The blend has a very strong coffee aroma, but it tastes more like red wine with hints of chocolate than your straight-up morning cup of joe. It has a nice finishing hint of cold brew, though, and it's very enjoyable.”
You had me at “very strong coffee aroma”.
Now one thing you might have reservations about is the caffeine content of a cold-brew-infused red wine, especially if you prefer to drink your wine at night and not first thing in the morning. But fear not, because it turns out that Apothic brew contains less caffeine than a standard cup of DECAF coffee.
Apothic Brew will officially hit store shelves April 1st, but it’s going to be a small-batch release, which means it might not be the easiest bottle to get your hands on. If you do manage to grab one, however, Apothic suggests drinking it at room temperature or slightly chilled.
So now that you guys have all the details on the new cold-brew infused red wine, I gotta know what you think of it? Are you dying to get your hands on a bottle, or would you rather keep your coffee and red wine fixes separate?
