Preacher Wan Ji Wan Husin, who is attached to the Penang Chief Minister's Office, has been arrested after delivering a sermon in Seberang Perai, Penang today.
According to strategy advisor to the Penang chief minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, the reasons behind Wan Ji's arrest are still unknown.
"We will issue a statement later when the lawyers have a clearer picture," said Saifuddin in a statement today.
