The police have opened an investigation paper on the Women’s March 2023, which was held in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Dang Wangi police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the assembly held in front of the Sogo Complex and Dataran Merdeka is being investigated under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and the Minor Offences Act 1955.
“Around 150 individuals, including NGO activists, students and political party members joined the rally with ‘Imagine if men are as disgusted with rape as with periods’, ‘Child not bride’, ‘Transwomen are women’, ‘Police your behaviour not my body’ placards in their hands.
“All identified individuals at the rally will be called to the Dang Wangi police headquarters for their statements to be recorded in the near future to facilitate with the probe,” he said in a statement.
