Court orders Raub Gold Mine to pay RM30k security for costs before appeal

The Federal Court today has directed Raub Australian Gold Mining Sdn Bhd (RAGM) to submit a deposit of RM30,000 before their application for leave to appeal of a defamation suit it lost against Bukit Koman villager Hue Shieh Lee, who is also the vice-president of the Pahang Raub Ban Cyanide in Gold Mining Action Committee.
Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Justice Richard Malanjum, made the order for the deposit be made as security on a request by lawyer Gurdial Singh Nijar, who appeared for Hue, following the company is facing liquidation.
