Manaweblife  went outdoors in the afternoon at Rimbun Dahan for a dance performance unlike any other. Ten dances were staged amidst the greenery in this resort enclave and performed by MyDance Alliance. The dancers took advantage of this natural stage to move freely all over the landscape like butterflies floating freely. Their costumes too were a sight to behold. Each dance captured the attention of a small group of audience that moved freely with them too. Amongst rustling leaves, the drizzle, wet floors and a chill in the air Dance In Place 2018  will be remembered as a great start to performing arts in this new year.

Cenderawasih (Birds of Paradise)
Inspired by the Malay Classical dances Timang Burung and Asyik, which imitate the movement of birds, this work is about abstracting movement and exploring a natural habitat. Cenderawasih are unique, rare and gorgeous birds; according to myth, these birds are from heaven, and come to earth only to die.

Alla (Malaysia) has a Masters in Dance from University of Malaya, Where she now teaches, and has participated in many editions of Dancing in Place. She also climbs mountains.
