Join us for a day hike in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan in this travel vlog. Karakol, in many ways, is the adventure capital of Kyrgyzstan. You can arrange just about any kind of several day horse-trekking or hiking adventure from Karakol but you also have the option of doing a shorter day hike. What surprised us the most about our hiking adventure was how quickly we transitioned from ascending a valley to descending through a forest. The change in scenery made for an exciting outing even though it was only a half day activity.

Day Hike in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan travel vlog video transcript:
Well good morning there. It is breakfast time here in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan. If you look at my plate here you can see that I'm going with a kind of healthier option with veggies and fruit.
Anyways, today we are going hiking here in Karakol (Каракол). And Karakol (Каракол) is one of like you know we mentioned it in another video as the adventure capital of Kyrgyzstan (Кыргызстан) in many ways. This is where you can do a lot of um longer excursions in terms of hikes and horse-treks. Ours is just going to be a day-hike so it is just going to be maybe like 3 to 4 hours?
So we are almost ready to go. Packing up the drone and the camera gear.
Alright, so we hopped in the car, drove out of town and now we're getting some great panorama views of Karakol off in the distance. Just grabbing a few shots and we're probably going to be starting our hike any minute.
So we are beginning our hike. Our driver dropped us off just outside Jorgolot Village and we are heading into the valley from here. I can't pronounce the name of the valley but it means the valley with no water or the dry valley.
Hello my name is Rakharam. I'm from Karakol and I'm a guide. Today we have a nice one hot day of trekking with two tourists from Canada. Yeah. We start from Jorgolot village. Now we are here to this place. You can see now here just dry. It is the name Kurglator. Yeah. It means Kurgolatk water because no water. The next part we'll go to the Korkdoose.
So it is super windy up here but we've stopped for a little picnic. The picnic was great I think we've sort of reached our max altitude. We were hiking up the whole for the first two hours so we're looking forward to kind of heading down and the landscape is supposed to change.
I think we're going to start seeing more forests and maybe some more shepherds and villages coming up soon.
So we keep hearing a lot of travelers comparing the mountains in Kyrgyzstan (Кыргызстан) to the Swiss Alps or the Austrian Alps.
So we are now past the halfway mark and that means it is all downhill from here. And that is a great thing because I think we're both exhausted. Also, this is a really scenic stretch of the hike because we are just surrounded by wild flowers.
So where are we heading now? Hi again. It is again me Rakharam. Now we go down to the Denger Park. You can see this is a plentiful forest. Nice day, very hot. Two guys from Canada doing this trek. It is great. Before we have the really good picnic. And visiting some tourists from France. Who do horse riding. They were doing horse riding. They were on a two day hike. Two day hike. They were going to go camping. There is lots of hiking options in Kyrgyzstan. You can go for as long as you want. Come to Kyrgyzstan.
So we have now entered the forest and it is so nice to walk through here because we are getting a bit more shade.
Well, guess what? I completely forgot to wrap up the video. As soon as we finished the hike we saw our van and we were just like tired and we jumped in. Keep in mind that you can do a lot of different types of hikes here in Karakol. You can do much longer ones, you can do even more adventurous ones than we did. Definitely recommend coming here, sorting out like a hiking or trekking schedule and then just going from there.
So yeah, that is it from Karakol and we will have some more food and travel videos coming for you soon.
