Deputy Inspector-General of Police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay revealed today that The 1975 left the country just hours after the incident and a police report was only lodged on the matter at 2pm the next day.
He said the police did not have time to take action as the band had already left the country.
Ayob added that the police had received 18 reports in relation to the incident.
When asked whether Royal Malaysia Police will engage with its foreign counterparts to assist with the probe, Ayob said it would be unlikely as Healy's act is not deemed as a criminal offence in the UK where he is residing.
