After Harry Styles was recently targeted with an energy drink can to the face during One Direction’s show in Philadelphia, the culprit has finally spoken out.
And Directioners of course had Harry’s back following the incident, tracking the wrongdoer down on Twitter, buuuut they may have taken things a little too far…
Isn’t it the first rule of thumb for concert-going to never throw items onstage during a show, especially if it could lead to, say, a black eye? And it wasn’t long before the One Direction fandom tracked down this girl, who was all smiles after her impeccable aim caught Harry offguard as he got pegged by a drink can to the face.
Directioners had more than a few words to say to the culprit, Hanna Cooke, but after days of bullying, abusive behavior and even death threats sent to Hanna, she has come clean and given a sincere apology. She explained on Twitter that she “didn't want to hurt Harry, and just wanted to be noticed". She went on to say that she was "truly sorry" for throwing the drink at Harry's beautiful face, calling the incident a "ridiculous and stupid thing" to do and also tried her best to reassure everyone that she loves him with ALL her heart.
Ok, so we all know that being in the moment within steps of your favorite musician can bring out behaviors you didn’t even know existed, BUT this is still no excuse to throw things, and Hanna has truly learned it the hard way. Since her apology, her Twitter account has since been deleted and threats got so bad, that even Harry’s mom had to step in.
After the incident she took to Twitter to write, QUOTE, “No harm done ... This time.. Unless you're on a sports field is it acceptable to throw things at people?! I think not.” But obviously caught word of the death threats and harassing and stepped in again to write, “OK peeps!! Please do not turn to bullying @HannaCooke17 ... that serves no purpose. Please just learn from the incident & be kind.”
Harry has yet to comment on this incident, but let’s all take this as a lesson to not throw things onstage and also to just be nicer to one another. But I want to know what you guys thought about the can-throwing conundrum, do you think Directioners went too far with the bullying, or is this a good lesson for anyone who is planning on trying to get someone’s attention in the future? Throw a shirt or a teddy bear if you have to, it’s much softer!
