The Descendants premiered to huge numbers on the Disney Channel over the weekend, and now everyone’s talking sequel!
Disney’s latest TV movie musical scored 6.6 million viewers on Friday night, making it the most-watched cable movie of 2015! Plus, since the movie was such a success, there’s already talk of a Descendants 2!
On Friday night, Disney premiered the fantasy musical The Descendants, and the ratings were incredible.
Typically, whenever a movie does very well on the Disney Channel, they‘ll make a sequel, like Teen Beach Movie. So, now that The Descendants premiered to incredible ratings, everyone’s talking movie No. 2.
The Descendants premiered to 6.6 million viewers, which is a larger audience than Teen Beach 2! So, there HAS to be a second movie in the works, right?!
Well, there’s no official word from Disney about a sequel, but it sounds like the cast would love to make another one. Dove Cameron, who stars as Mal, the daughter of Maleficent, in the movie, talked about a sequel on Twitter.
One fan tweeted Dove asking about a second movie and she responded QUOTE We know nothing! But I would die to do another one.
So, it sounds like they don’t know about a sequel just yet. But, we’ll keep you posted and let you know if we hear anything!
