CARMEN
My husband and I were just there-at Mandalay Bay-only a few days before. We watched a show. We walked the strip. Had a great time.
Days later, I woke up to an alert on my phone-Breaking News on the Las Vegas mass shooting. For a second I wondered if I was still dreaming-this couldn’t really be happening again. My heart hurt. I felt sick. And I didn’t want to get out of bed. My husband and I said a prayer together and throughout the morning a song kept playing in my head: “Anyway” by Martina McBride. The lyrics struck me in a way they never had and I had a thought to call my friend Alex Boye’ and record it. Right away. I always wonder “What can I do?” when disaster strikes. I always pray for comfort and healing, but I wanted to do more. To share some of what I was feeling in the best way I knew how-by singing. I hope that whoever listens to this will feel some tiny ray of hope, that when horrible things happen, you fight, you stay strong, you still dream, you still love, you still sing. This world can be so dark and it’s hard to believe the light will continue to shine. Believe it anyway.

What lies in the heart of a person who chooses to take 50+ lives at a concert, and was clearly hoping to have taken many more? Condolences to the families of these innocent victims who's lives will now have changed forever. May they find the kind of peace that surpasses all understanding through this that only God can give...Music is more than just entertainment. Music is our medicine. Right @marieosmond ? (We shot a music video together on the strip last year) NOW IT'S TIME TO INCREASE THE DOSAGE!!! No matter what they do, the music will never stop playing, and even if we have no instruments, it will keep playing in our hearts. R.I.P Quinton Robbins.
