Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad said his party only accepts a selected number of former Umno leaders under strict conditions.
He added that leaving former 'Umno people' without a party could cause a lot of damage in the future.
At a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today, Dr Mahathir also said Bersatu is adamant on setting up shop in Sabah.
However, he stressed that this move was not meant to challenge the Sabah government, but rather, to strengthen it.
