Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said a new investigation would be launched based on Suhakam's findings on the disappearance of Pastor Raymond Koh and activist Amri Che Mat.
However, he said this would take place after a new inspector-general of police is appointed to replace Mohamed Fuzi Harun, who is slated to retire next month.
On Wednesday, Suhakam revealed its findings on the inquiry held into Koh and Amri's disappearance in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
The human rights commission claimed that the police special branch was responsible for the pair's abduction. At the time, Fuzi was heading the special branch.
