Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today advised Malaysians, including government servants, to tighten their belts as the government is working hard to reduce the national debt incurred by the previous BN administration.
Mahathir said this when addressing participants at a Cuepacs event held at the Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang today.
He reiterated that the previous government had accumulated a mountain of debts, putting the country's finances in a difficult situation.
