'Drunken' duo assault 7-Eleven employee, suspect takes selfie with victim

An employee of a convenience store in Bandar Rinching, Kajang suffered facial injuries after being punched by an alleged drunken man for reprimanding him for taking umbrellas without paying on Monday night.

According to Harian Metro, the victim's father, Shahrul Aminshah Aziz, stated that his 17-year-old son worked part-time at the convenience store after completing his SPM.

Speaking to the Malay language portal, the father added that one of the men who punched his son even took a selfie after the assault.

According to him, his son is currently receiving treatment at Kajang Hospital for facial injuries.

Meanwhile, Kajang Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said the police are taking action to identify the suspects.

7-Eleven Malaysia has lodged a report over the incident. In a statement, it assured that the employee would receive the necessary medical treatment.

Update: The two suspects have been detained by police in separate locations. Both have criminal records.
