Hosted by the ANU Malaysia Institute from October 21st to October 23rd 2020, the 2020 Malaysia Update came at a time of a global public health, political, and economic crisis.
Malaysia is facing unprecedented challenges, with political alliances shifting and restructuring, the economy contracting sharply due to COVID-19, and many people at risk of losing their lives and livelihoods.
The Malaysia Update was held virtually, in collaboration with KiniTV, which brought together speakers from Malaysia and Australia to discuss the latest developments, debates and challenges, in search of urgent alternative visions for the future of Malaysia.
