Last month, it was announced that Ed Sheeran got engaged to his longtime love, Cherry Seaborn, days before he won the Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo AND Best Pop Vocal Album. The British crooner posted a picture on Instagram along with the caption QUOTE “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”
What more could a successful man ask for? Maybe a lifelong commitment to the love of his life.
The “Perfect” singer performed at London’s O2 Arena earlier this week and fans noticed that he was rocking a silver ring that looked remarkably like a wedding band on THAT special finger.
While people just started talking about the ring now, further investigation reveals he’s been wearing it for almost two weeks. The accessory could be seen in an Instagram picture he posted on February 10th of himself in the studio.
Sure, it could be a random piece of jewelry or even an engagement ring of his own, but that’s not stopping people from speculating that he and Cherry already tied the knot.
One fan tweeted QUOTE “Ed Sheeran has been wearing a ring on his ring finger like did he get married??? Or like is he just wearing it to mess with us?? I need answers.”
Another one said QUOTE “Is @edsheeran secretly married? maybe Ed & Cherry married privately (without the fuss & intrusion of the paps & glossy mag deals, & I totally don’t blame them!) & will share the news when they are ready ! He’s always been private especially where Cherry is concerned”
While he didn’t admit to walking down the aisle, he did tell the audience about his life with his fiance. He said on stage QUOTE “I find myself getting really excited about kitchen appliances now. I promise this song isn’t about kitchen appliances. I can reveal to you here tonight I’ll be singing ‘Thinking Out Loud’ at the BRITs. I’m excited about wearing [glasses]. Can you believe [that]? I’ve reached a stage in my life where I’m actually excited about my spectacles?”
Ed and Cherry have always been very private about their relationship, so I guess it’d make sense that they’d keep their marriage on the DL, too.
