This monitor lizard was on the local newspaper when a reporter had mistaken it as a crocodile in the lake of a popular jogging park, Likas Sport Complex. If you come to this lake in late afternoon, you would see this monitor lizard foraging near the people who are busy feeding the fishes. Normally monitor lizards would flee when they see people like 30 feet away. However, this lizard is oblivious of our presence. Occasionally it gazes at us as if it's begging for food.
