Bagan Datuk MP Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told the Dewan Rakyat today that lawmakers should reject any attempt to declare a state of emergency nationwide.
However, Zahid said, his party fully supports the declaration of emergency in a specific place like in Batu Sapi to avoid a by-election in light of the Covid-19 outbreak in Sabah.
The Umno president also called for government's mandate to be returned to the people as soon as possible.
