The world is STILL under Frozen’s enchanting spell, and ABC’s Once Upon a Time has the stellar ratings to prove it!
As you might know, the fourth season of the hit show premiered on Sunday night, and fans everywhere had been waited with bated breath since we all know that Frozen would also be making its debut into the plot.
And though some thought it was a bit risky to add Anna, Elsa, and the rest of the gang into the Storybrooke world, it certainly paid off since 9.4 MILLION people tuned into the premiere. Not too shabby, right? In fact, the last time the show had ratings this high was nearly two years ago during its second season. The power of Frozen knows no bounds!
However, that wasn’t the only big winner in the ratings on Sunday evening, as the long-awaited crossover between The Simpsons and Family Guy finally happened. This was like, 14 years in the making, you guys, and fans were obviously on board since it scored 8.4 million viewers. Also, the fact that a death was teased on The Simpsons’ season premiere for MONTHS was another reason people were eager to watch.
And though technically Once Upon a Time earned more views, it should be mentioned that compared to last year’s premieres, The Simpsons was up 34 percent, while Family guy was up 61 percent. We guess people really wanted to see Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin unite! We’re hoping for some more Peter/Homer match ups in the future.
Just based on today’s news, could you imagine if our favorite tv writers found a way to cross over Frozen AND The Simpsons AND Family Guy? Now that would be HUGE. Just the thought of Bart singing do you want to build a snow man with some Family Guy cast musical proficiency tied in – well, it’s HILARIOUS.
