Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are breaking down all the gender rules with their latest Vogue spread.
I know Zayn doesn’t like being a part of a ‘power couple’ but Zigi’s latest stance on gender fluidity definitely makes them one.
In Vogue’s latest spread, the magazine explored gender fluid community and how the fashion industry is breaking down that wall one collection and runway at a time. Although celebrities like Jaden Smith and Selena Gomez have been breaking gender rules for quite some time now with their fashion choices, Vogue dubbed Zayn and Gigi as a part of a new generation for breaking gender codes.
The two, including Gigi’s younger brother Anwar posed in gender neutral clothes for the issue and talked about how normal it is for guys to wear clothes made for females and vice versa.
Both Gigi and Zayn opened up about going through each other’s closets constantly. Z even admitted that he borrowed Gigi’s Anna Sui t-shirt the other day and said QUOTE, “I like that shirt. And if it’s tight on me, so what? It doesn’t matter if it was made for a girl.”
Gigi agreed with her boyfriend and followed up on Zayn’s comment with QUOTE, “It’s not about gender. It’s about, like, shapes. And what feels good on you that day. And anyway, it’s fun to experiment.”
Even Anwar jumped in on the conversation and spoke on behalf of his generation by saying QUOTE, “We’re chill! People our age, we’re just chill. You can be whoever you want as long as you’re being yourself.” Well said, Anwar.
