Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said he will speak to the Attorney-General on the conviction of graphic designer Mohd Fahmi Reza on the charge of uploading a caricature of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak on his Instagram account.
He said as the government was moving to amend the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 there is a moratorium in place on the enforcement of the act.
He said there needed to be clarification on whether the moratorium would also apply to cases where there are convictions or only on cases that are pending.
