A fossil of a mammal embedded in the Gua Naga Mas limestone cave wall in Gopeng was found in 1992 by Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) members. The fossil in the cave, which is located in a Siamese temple, was being worshipped, and a tiger painting can be seen next to it with joss sticks and other prayer items. Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Malaya (UM), and related government agencies plans to carry out detailed studies on the fossil, to confirm if it was a carnivorous mammal.
