Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that the government could approve the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project that would link Penang Island with Seberang Perai.

The DAP Secretary-General expressed his belief during the Jelajah Perpaduan Madani event last night, stating he was confident that the project could be implemented with the support of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the finance minister.
