The Penang state legislative assembly is expected to be officially dissolved today to pave way for the 14th general election, which is widely expected to be in May.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is expected to make the announcement in Komtar at 1.45pm, after obtaining the consent of Penang governor Abdul Rahman Abbas at 8.30am this morning.
This follows Prime Minister Najib Razak's announcement on Friday that Parliament will be dissolved on Saturday.
After the announcement, Lim's administration will be officially the caretaker government for Penang.
