PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, who is also the PN deputy president, expressed confidence that the coalition can win big in the upcoming state polls based on their performance in GE15.

PN swept up votes across Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah in GE15 last year, which Hadi said is a clear indication of their strength and popularity among the rakyat.

Six state governments - Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan - will see their terms expire by July.

“We hope the success of this wave lasts, especially since the Pakatan Harapan government that is in charge today (is) a government without direction.

“To call it unity, it is not unity. If it is a unity (government), then of course the government will not have an opposition or an opposition that is so small that it does not have a role – only then is that a unity government.

“If half (of the lawmakers) are the opposition, that is not unity. This is an inaccurate term, and there are still many unsolved problems, statements that have not been implemented,” Hadi added.
