Halsey Fangirls Over Taylor Swift & Defends Her After Scooter Braun Drama!

Over the weekend Halsey dropped in for a surprise set at the We Can Survive benefit concert in Hollywood and showed some love for the night’s headliner, Taylor Swift. I didn’t think I could possibly love Halsey any more than I already do, but now she’s also a Swiftie?! I STAN.What’s up guys? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and We Can Survive was a STACKED benefit concert.Some of the biggest artists in music performed like Taylor Swift, Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and more.
The show, which supports the American Cancer Society, was certainly a night to remember. On top of all the amazing performances, the most important part is that the event raised over $135,000 for the American Cancer Society, which is what everyone was there for.And even more celebs wanted to get involved and help raise money. The lineup was stacked to begin with, but some other performers surprised fans. Like for example, Halsey, who surprised the crowd with a drop in performance. I mean as if this lineup could be any better?! Now Halsey too! She sang some of her hits like “Bad At Love,” “Without Me,” and her new single “Graveyard,” but that wasn’t all.Halsey actually sang a bit of Taylor Swift’s song Lover and raved about Tay’s new album.
Halsey is the Swiftie I didn’t know I needed in this life.She spoke to the crowd and said quote, “I've got to be honest with you guys. The whole new album is my shower music. It’s really insane.”She went on to explain that her assistant probably has around 100 videos of her rocking out to Taylor’s songs in the shower. Then Halsey did something that none of us were prepared for, she actually sang a bit of Lover and my heart actually exploded.And if that wasn’t enough to make your day, Halsey explained that she’d actually love to collaborate with Taylor eventually.
Oh my goodness, this is the collab we need. Taylor and Halsey. Halsey and Taylor. It just sounds right doesn’t it?!You guys, I think we need to manifest this into existence. Let’s all take a moment to put it out into the universe that we NEED this collab to happen.Ok great thank you.

Let’s get Halsey on that Lover Fest lineup!And this isn’t the first time that Halsey has publicly supported Taylor.Earlier this year when Taylor called out Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records in her now infamous, emotional blog post, Halsey spoke out and defended Taylor.Halsey tweeted, sharing how much Taylor has inspired her in her own career and what it means to her that Taylor is speaking out for writers' rights.She tagged Taylor in the tweet and wrote quote, “Taylor Swift is a huge reason why I always insisted to write my own music/ I believed if she did it (in a way that made my teeth ache like cold water and my heart swell and my eyes leak) than I should too. 'Cause that's how to make someone feel. To drag it from the pits of your heart. To offer it on a platter and say 'take some but take kindly.'”
Halsey went on to say that believes Taylor deserves to own her own music — and what this deal means for the rights of songwriters everywhere, especially the ones who are women.
And Halsey is no stranger to collabs. She skyrocketed to fame largely in part to her collab with the Chainsmokers, for, you know, a little song called Closer.That Grammy-nominated song which was basically the only thing on the radio for two
whole years. Since then she’s collaborated with her then-boyfriend G-Eazy, Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui, and even BTS.So it’s definitely not out of the question for her and Taylor of collaborate. I mean Halsey’s third album, Manic, does come out in January of 2020.I think there is still some time to get Taylor on that record. Or maybe… just maybe, they already have worked on a collab together and Halsey was teasing us and planting a Taylor Swift style Easter egg during her performance the other night.I don’t know you guys, it’s just a thought!
