Since Directioners learned about Harry Styles’ rumored new romance with food blogger Tess Ward, harsh comments have flooded her socials, causing her to officially toss in the towel.
Well, it looks like being linked to one of the most desired bachelors in the world comes with its share of repercussions, and according to Tess, enough is enough!
It seems to be only fair that dating a member of One Direction should come with a warning label, saying something along the lines of ‘MAY EXPOSE INTERNET TROLLS’ or ‘TAKE CAUTION OF UNNECESSARY HATE COMMENTS’ but unfortunately for chef Tess Ward, who’s been reportedly dating Harry Styles, there was no such warning.
Following rumors of a new romance between the two set up by mutual friends, Tess’ social media accounts have been flooded with harsh comments and threats from internet trolls to which she’s been forced to delete a number of her accounts.
In an interview with The Times newspaper, Tess revealed QUOTE, “Snapchat I’ve deleted, Twitter – don’t really do it. I’m even a little bit out of love with Instagram. At the moment I’m getting a lot of direct messages there, but I respectfully choose not to reply to them, because they’re all like, interesting. I want a break. I just want a break.”
Tess has also made it very clear that she’s not interested in the fame gained by dating Harry, as her Instagram account has skyrocketed to over 140,000 followers, and has also stressed that she only wants to post photos of food as she’s done in the past. She said QUOTE, “It’s been so weird, the hate messages … very bizarre. I’m not the kind of person who’s interested in fame and if you’re put in an environment which you don’t understand and you can’t control and you don’t want it’s horrible… I just want to do what I love and that’s cook, it really is.”
Although Tess was seen supporting Harry during his secret London gig over the weekend, when asked about her relationship with him, she kept quiet, saying, “I literally don’t have anything to say about that,” just before her publicist chimed in to add, “My clients don’t talk about their personal lives.”
But for the many fans who have expressed their happiness and congratulations for the couple, Tess wants them to know that she’s grateful for their support, saying, “For everyone following and messaging me, I am thankful but please be kind to me. All I want is to share beautiful food with all of you.”
Now is that too much to ask for, people?! How about we all just practice a little bit of kindness once in a while? So here’s to hoping the hateful comments die down so the new couple can live their lives, but right now I want to know your thoughts on the harsh comments Tess has been receiving, so get to talking right down here in the comments and after that, be sure to click right over here to check out episode TWO of It Got Real: Erin’s Surgery.
