New details about Harry Styles’ solo record deal have emerged and all I can say is CHA-CHING!
Harry Styles is in for a serious payday with his new record deal, but does a Harry solo album mean the end of One Direction? Never fear, Directioners, we’ve got your back on this one.
According to Hits Daily Double, Harry’s solo deal with Columbia Records is for a reported $80 million for three albums.
Apple supposedly offered Harry $25m for one album, but Columbia won the bidding war with their $80 million offer. And it’s interesting that Apple is now aggressively going after exclusive content for their 15 million Apple Music subscribers.
Following the news, #CongratulationsHarry started trending on Twitter and Directioners had a variety of reactions.
@artskidziam on Twitter wrote, “The fact harry wants to make solo demos doesn’t mean he’s quitting the band, he wouldn’t do it that way #CongratulationsHarry.”
Another Twitter user wrote, “the purpose of hiatus is for them to make solo projects, do u expect he’ll just play scrabble til end of their break? #CongratuationsHarry”

Now, Directioners, as many of you have already assumed, just because Harry might be making solo music, it doesn’t mean One Direction is over for good. Solo projects aside, I believe 1D will come back and make more music together after the hiatus.
