The government has no plans to make it compulsory for entertainment outlets to be equipped with breathalysers to test customers who drank alcohol before they leave.

Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong said the government only encouraged entertainment outlet operators to do so.

The minister was responding to Mohd Nizar Zakaria (BN-Parit) who asked if the government would implement a "blow before go" policy for pubs.

Wee said the government has also advised operators to counsel their customers under the influence of alcohol not to drive.
