Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad today said that there have been 39,408 cases of the Hand, Foot and Mouth disease reported since the 1st of January this year up until last Sunday.
He said this in response to a question from Pengkalan Cheapa MP Ahmad Marzuk Shaary about the statistics of the disease and what is being done to stem it.
Dzulkifli added that the ministry is working with relevant agencies to launch a nationwide awareness campaign on the disease and will be conducting disinfection operations in affected areas.
