Hundreds turned up on this morning at the Wat Siam in Sungai Petani, Kedah here to seek justice for Chee Gaik Yap, a marketing executive who was raped and murdered in 2006.

Among those are Chee's father, Chee Ah Sau as well as Bukit Berapit ADUN Lydia Ong and State Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang.

The demands put forth by them include appealing to the Attorney-General to provide updates on the case development and to add a rape charge on the suspect.

Eight years ago, Gaik Yap, 25, a Universiti Utara Malaysia graduate, was believed to have been tailed by her assailant while jogging in the neighbourhood of Taman Ria Jaya in Sungai Petani.
