Former Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik says that he harbours no ill feelings against Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad despite being he was advised to "return" his Cabinet post.
The Simpang Renggam MP said this during a meet-the-rakyat programme on Saturday (Jan 4) and insisted that he was not fired from his previous post as the Education Minister, nor did he "resign", as Dr Mahathir had the prerogative as Prime Minister to take the position back.
Maszlee also said he knew about the online petition to retain him as the Education Minister and that it had received more than half a million signatures, adding that he was touched by the gesture.
