Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad says Malaysia has offered to help Indonesia put out forest fires, however Indonesian President Joko Widodo has yet to accept the offer.
At a press conference today, Mahathir requested the media to ask Indonesia why it hasn't accepted the offer.
Meanwhile, some 2,646 schools nationwide are to be closed tomorrow as a result of the haze situation, the Education Ministry announced in a statement this evening.
The ministry stated that some 1,715,274 students are so far affected by these closures.
The breakdown of the schools being closed tomorrow are 987 in Sarawak, 939 in Selangor, 25 in Putrajaya, 296 in Kuala Lumpur and 399 in Penang.
