Wee Ka Siong has urged the government to bring back the GST tax system, saying increasing the SST to 8% will lead to a hike in inflation.

Among others, the Ayer Hitam MP noted that the logistics industry would be a major contributor to price hikes following the SST increase.

Last Friday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim mentioned that SST will increase from 6% to 8% during the tabling of Budget 2024.
