Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has appointed Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob as Deputy Prime Minister.

In a statement issued this evening, the Prime Minister’s Office said Ismail’s appointment will help the prime minister manage the country and fulfill the people's needs in a situation where the country is facing a health and economic crisis.

Also getting a promotion today is Hishammuddin Hussein, who is now Senior Foreign Affairs Minister.
