A journalist with Chinese-daily Sin Chew, Wang Kian Yong, was issued a RM1,000 compound after authorities alleged that he failed to observe social distancing while on duty covering the nominations for candidates in Larkin.
"I was approaching the independent candidate to ask for his contact details when the health authority issued me with a compound.
"I asked can't I be let go with a warning but they said there were already three warnings given," says Wang.
Authorities also issued warnings to two media personnel from the online portal Malaysia Gazette.
