As rumors continue to swirl regarding why Justin Bieber cancelled his tour, he’s denying that it’s because he’s staring a church.
Don’t bring religion into this guys! Justin says he’s just tired.
Ever since we found out that Bieber was abruptly ending his Purpose tour, everyone has been trying to determine the true reasoning behind it. Although Bieber continues to insist that he just needs to rest and is exhausted, multiple outlets stated that he actually was cancelling the tour due to religious enlightenment. Some even said that he may be starting his own church! Australia’s channel 9 news correspondent Richard Wilkins said, “I am led to belive that the real reason he has come off the road is because he wants to reconnect with his faith and he may be even planning to start his own church. Whether he's looking at teaming up with [Hillsong]… or starting his own church, we're not quite sure… That's the word from an inside source.” Who is this source? He’s also been getting closer with Pastor Carl Lentz. However, this report was all speculation because when asked if he cancelled the concert due to religious reasons, Justin himself immediately denied and said that we already know the reason why he cancelled. Justin was also spotted leaving BOA Sunset last night and was confronted about not only upsetting his fans, but leaving his tour crew out of work. When the paparazzi said that one of the staff members put out a statement saying they were upset about not getting paid for the tour, Justin says that “someone who worked on the tour is not his staff.” There is a difference between personal staff and tour crew, but regardless he clearly doesn’t feel he’s responsible for that. Is there more to the story though? It looks like the tour actually needed to end sooner than later. According to Billboard, a source from concert promoter AEG said, ”Overall, the 154-concert tour was very successful, but some of the final dates weren't selling that well. After playing sold-out arena dates all over the country, Bieber might have been pushing his luck trying to return and play stadium shows without releasing a new album.” They also said that only one of the 14 shows left was sold out. So with the combination of exhaustion, growing in his faith, and poor ticket sales, maybe it wasn’t that hard for the Biebs to cancel the tour after all.
Anyway, what do you guys think about this? Do you think Bieber will actually start a church in the future or maybe even become a pastor? And do you think that poor ticket sales had anything to do with the cancellation? Let us know in the comment section below and don’t forget to subscribe.
