Justin Bieber is well into the second week of his Purpose tour, but a bit of bad news hit Beliebers hard last night: He’s officially cancelling the remainder of his tour’s meet and greets.
If there’s one sole purpose in the life of JB, it’s making fans happy, and although it comes at the expense of scratching his fans’ backstage experience, it’s only to give you the BEST show ever.
Many sources including Justin confirmed the news last night that the decision to cancel the entire remainder of his Purpose tour’s meet and greets has been official and potentially in the works since the beginning of the tour when security problems arose due to some die-hard Beliebers.
Justin’s own safety was on the line Monday night before his LA show when and obsessed fan, who already appeared to be on security’s “watch list”, got within 10 feet of him during a meet and greet, and was quickly removed from the area. This was allegedly the last straw in an already increasing problem with the number of people wanting access to the Biebs, and many sources say he’s undergone traumatic episodes including having his hair pulled, clothes ripped, and one fan even giving him the flu.
Justin apparently never complained about the events, however he addressed the cancellation in his own way on his Instagram last night, writing QUOTE, “I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people's spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy.. Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression .. The pressure of meeting people's expectations of what I'm supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders.”
In return, Justin promised fans the best show they’ve ever seen and even more incredible music, so we can only wish him the best and hope that he returns happy and in good health. The fans who have already purchased one-on-one concert access, were offered refunds, and group meetings will now consist of Justin talking to a few fans on a stage with less personal interaction.
But hey, some Justin is better than no Justin, amiright, Beliebers?! But on a serious note, we do wish Justin the best and a healthy remainder of the tour.
