Katy Perry has ended her feud with Taylor Swift so she can focus on potentially an even bigger one– her beef with Christianity.

What’s up guys it’s Emile here with Clevver News. We know Katy Perry AKA Katy Hudson started off as a Christian singer, but over the past two years it seems that she’s battling her inner demons and outwardly battling numerous Catholics in court

This time, it’s about her 2014 song Dark Horse.
A Christian rapper that goes by the name of Flame is accusing Katy of copying his 2009 song “Joyful Noise”
And unfortunately for Katy, the court just unanimously decided that she did.

I have to admit, the two songs do have the same beat.

But Katy’s team is arguing that the beat is a really basic building block of music – her musical expert testified that the pattern is as simple as “Mary Had a Little Lamb” and that everybody should be able to use it.

Marcus Gray AKA Flame and his two co-writers sued Katy, Juicy J, 4 other co-writers, and 4 corporations that distributed the song for libel.
Katy and her team argued that they’ve never heard the song or knew who “Flame” was
But they were thwarted when the plaintiff argued that the song had millions of views on Youtube and the album it was featured on was nominated for a Grammy.
Although they were all found guilty, Katy and Juicy J may be off the hook this time, since they only wrote the words and not the beat.
Still, they’ll have to continue to the penalty phase of court where the jury will decide how much the defendants owe for copyright infringement

And this isn’t the first time this year that Katy has faced off against the Catholics.

Maybe you remember her bid to purchase a 14 million dollar home in Los Angeles that used to be a convent for nuns.

They fought back against Katy buying the property from them after doing a quick google search of her and disapproving of her work.

If that doesn’t ring a bell, maybe you remember one of those nuns dying words: “Katy Perry. Please Stop”.

Okay I’m just gonna say it. It sounds like someone put a Christian curse on Katy.

And that could have happened a long time ago.
Since she got famous in 2008 she has denounced her Christian upbringing, saying it was full of misogyny and sexism.

Katy says that she was forced to spend her childhood picketing Madonna concerts and avoiding gay people

Until she took her life back with I Kissed a Girl

But it looks like when you go up against the Catholics, the Catholics come back to bite

With plenty of lawsuits

So we’ll see how this one plays out. I’m sure Katy is praying for a good outcome.
