One unlucky concertgoer was pegged in the face with an inflatable ball by none other than Katy Perry during her Witness Tour, and he managed to get the entire thing on camera.
Because if you don’t document getting nailed in the face by Katy Perry, did it really happen?
She’s got the eye of the tiger, but little did we know, Katy Perry also got the soccer skills of Cristiano Ronaldo. Just last weekend during her Witness World Tour stop in Salt Lake City, Utah, one unlucky fan (or “lucky” fan depending on how you see it) was pegged directly in the face during her performance of “Roar”. Katy was having the time of her life onstage kicking around giant eyeball beach balls, when you can only guess what happened next…
Wait, wait, wait… let’s look at this again in slow motion for accuracy purposes…
Well, there’s nothing like being in the wrong place at the wrong time, all while capturing it at the right time… Concertgoer Jordan Hanks recalled getting hit by the ball in a clip of the incident posted to YouTube, saying QUOTE, “I didn't realize that she was kicking it right at my face until it was too late. The ball hit me right square in the face and knocked my phone out of my hands.”
He also shared that he wasn’t even planning on going to Katy’s concert that night, but scored the tickets last minute from a friend, and was shocked when he realized he had been given front row seats. Little did he know, he’d be getting an actual “kick” out of the show.
But thankfully nobody was harmed in the making of this video as Jordan recalled what happened after he was pegged, saying, “I was so shocked and started laughing hysterically. Everyone around me asked me if I was okay and I was just laughing uncontrollably. My phone died shortly after, so once I got home and charged it I watched the video and it was hilarious.”
Oh yeah, and he also admitted via social media that this was QUOTE “the single best moment of my life.” Because as we all know, getting hit in the face by your idol, is like, AWESOME.
Katy Perry has yet to speak out about her shot to the face, or to gift Jordan with free concert tickets for that matter, but we’re holding out hope these two will become much more acquainted in the coming weeks.
