Katy Perry Speaks Out On Man 'Catfished' Into Thinking He Was Dating Her

After six long years, one man who thought he was in a long-term relationship with Katy Perry is finally getting noticed by the actual popstar herself.
Katy Perry is a pretty busy gal, but when she finally caught wind of the man who believed he was dating her for the last six years, she just had to come out and say something.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, let me fill you in on all the important details before jumping right into Katy’s response. There’s this man by the name of Spencer Morrill from Tennessee who has been convinced for the last six years that he was dating popstar goddess Katy Perry.
But when the relationship ended without so much as an explanation, Spencer became very suspicious and called up MTV’s Catfish to basically find out whether or not he was catfished and spoiler alert, he was. And now, enter Katy Perry. Days after the episode aired, the ‘Rise’ singer was asked for her thoughts on the whole ordeal during Sirius XM’s ‘Morning Mashup’ and she said her heart went out to the poor guy.
When asked if she saw it, Katy said QUOTE, “Yes, somebody sent me a link. I didn’t actually read through it, because I just think it’s really unfortunate and sad.”
Katy continued to comment on Spencer’s situation when one of the Morning Mashup hosts told her that Spencer had an engagement ring made using his great-grandmother’s emerald. She said QUOTE, “You know, like, my heart goes out to him actually because anybody that’s been fooled like that or just, you know, people have dreams, and people live in different parts of the world where not everything is always so accessible…I feel bad for him, and so I didn’t really like to indulge in that, because my heart would die.”
Poor guy, well, at least the real Katy knows who he is now…right?
Aside from commenting on Spencer’s Catfish episode, Katy also revealed to Elvis Duran on another morning show that she’s been going to therapy to help herself stay normal in this crazy industry and it’s helping a lot.
