Katy Perry Under Fire After Joke About Barack Obama

Katy was doing an Instagram Live over the weekend when she noticed a fan express that they missed her black hair. What Katy said in response, raised some eyebrows. Check it out:
Many took offense to Katy’s comment because they believed she was correlating her former black hair to the race our former president. Those who took offense quickly took to Twitter saying - “Wow Katy Perry. The reference to former Pres. Obama was offensive & a poor, tasteless attempt at humor. Your privilege is showing.” Another said - “Any dragging that Katy Perry receives is a result of her own actions. We are all accountable for what comes out of our mouth. #obama.” One person straight up called Katy a racist. But not everyone interpreted Katy’s comment the same way. Others defended her by pointing out that they believe she was misunderstood. One person tweeted - “Katy Perry meant she wants Obama back and can’t have him same way ppl want her black hair and won’t get it back…”
Meanwhile the Weeknd’s producer named Mano took to Twitter to point out that Katy has made racist comments to him in the past. Back in 2013 he tweeted about a particular incident saying QUOTE - “I wish y’all coulda been there when Katy Perry referred 2 me as a “ni**a” ironically in Paris. Y’all know she says it regularly right -_-.” Over the weekend revisited the incident saying QUOTE - “what’s more amazing is I tweeted that sh*t in 2013 & ya’ll ain’t say’n shit about it until u catch the person red handed? Who the bigger fool?” Katy has not spoken out about any of this. I want to hear from you guys. How do you think she meant the joke?
