Kim Kardashian has returned in full force to social media, and that includes speaking out on this year’s hot topic: politics. On Friday President Trump signed an executive order that temporarily bans citizens from seven Muslim countries from entering the US for ninety days and a ban on all refugees for one hundred and twenty days.
The shocking immigration ban has sparked a national outcry including protests and heated reactions. Kim Kardashian, the granddaughter of Armenian immigrants responded to Trump’s ban on Twitter writing QUOTE, “Statistics”. Included was a chart of circumstances that Americans are killed by each year and their numbers. For example, 69 people in America each year are killed by a lawnmower. The last row on the graphic shows over eleven thousand people are killed annually by another American, while only sixteen people are killed by a terrorist or immigrant.
Rihanna got in on the conversation as well tweeting, “Disgusted! The news is devastating! American is being ruined right before our eyes!” Actress Kerry Washington had a similar sentiment tweeting, “Sick to my stomach today about the #MuslimBan”. While Miley Cyrus posted a colorful image reading “Stand with immigrants”.
At the PGA Awards this weekend John Legend encouraged viewers to reject Trump’s vision for America, take a look.
We’re not sure what the future holds but we do know this controversy is FARRRR from over. Tell us below what you think of celebrities voicing their opinion on the immigration ban? I’m your host Emile Ennis, Jr, thanks for tuning in.
