Two days after the freak storm that caused havoc in Penang, flood evacuees have dropped from 5,729 to 3,482 as at 6am today.
However, certain parts of the island such as greater Penanti are still affected by waist-high water.
The Dewan Rakyat today accepted an emergency motion to debate the floods in Penang and Kedah and will be debating in its special chamber later this evening.
