Ong and Damansara MP Tony Pua were the only two Harapan MPs who spoke in favour of Muhyiddin Yassin’s original deal.
This earned the duo the wrath of not just the public but also their allies and even those from their own party, the DAP.
In the dying days of the Muhyiddin Yassin administration, Muhyiddin begged the opposition to keep him in power.
Harapan’s presidential council rejected the offer within hours. However, Harapan signed the CSA with Ismail Sabri a month later.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has dared Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to prove assertions that the former is not a Malay.
