[KiniNews] Prosecutors contended that the criminal court should hold on to Muhyiddin Yassin’s passport as the former prime minister still faces three money laundering charges.
Deputy public prosecutor Lim Wai Keong said this in an affidavit to object against Muhyiddin’s bid for permanent release of his passport.
Lim said that the bail conditions should not be varied in order to ensure Muhyiddin’s attendance in court for the three Amla charges pending before the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.
He added that there was a possibility of flight risk on the part of Muhyiddin, and that this was the reason the criminal court previously imposed the RM2 million bail and its attendance conditions, including surrendering of the passport.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the post of Community Communications Department (J-Kom) director-general vacated by Mohammad Agus Yusoff will be filled as soon as possible.
