[KiniNews] Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said action against defecting Rembia assemblyperson Muhammad Jailani Khamis will be handled by Malacca Chief Minister Ab Rauf Yusoh.

He said action will also be taken by the Umno supreme council.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) has withdrawn its letter of demand (LOD) against The Edge Communications Sdn Bhd and one of its writers.

This comes after Human Resources Minister Steven Sim ordered it to do so.

Speaking to reporters in Parliament today, Sim said he disagreed with the actions of HRD Corp, an agency under his purview, as he believed in media freedom.
