Law Minister Takiyuddin Hassan said that there will be no Parliament sitting until the end of the emergency on August 1st.
He said that they did not want to expose MPs to risks, as a significant number of them under the high-risk group for Covid-19, with 77 of them between the ages of 61 to 69.
He added that there was no need for Parliament to be in session during an emergency as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah could make ordinances as provided for under Article 150 (2B) of the Federal Constitution.
