#KiniNews: Stop calling each other 'kafir', 'Zionist' - Speaker; PN hits out at 'double standards'

[KiniNews] Dewan Rakyat speaker Johari Abdul today warned lawmakers from using words such as “kafir”, “Zionists”, and “Yahudi” (Jews) or any equivalent in a derogatory manner against their peers when speaking in the lower house, following several commotions that took place last week.

Johari ruled that such conduct contravenes Standing Order 36(10)(c) which prevents lawmakers from using words likely to promote feelings of ill-will or hostility between different communities in the federation

He also told MPs to leave any personal matters involving other MPs outside of the house.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, several Perikatan Nasional MPs have cried “double standards” in cases involving issues related to race, religion and royalty (3R).

This comes after Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail only cited examples of 3R cases involving PN MPs in the lower house earlier during question time.
