KJ Apa BREAKS His Hand & Shows Off Nasty Injury

KJ Apa’s swollen and bloody hand made an appearance on social media yesterday, and fans are CONCERNED.
This wouldn’t be the first time KJ injured himself. Back in June, he broke his hand while filming a scene for the final episode of Riverdale. And, if you’re a Riverdale fanatic, you know exactly which scene we’re talking about.
Back in April, soon after filming the episode, KJ tweeted, QUOTE,” Our final ep is so good I can’t stop thinking about it. Not to mention I broke my hand while shooting it. Mental.” Now that’s dedication!
But while talking to TV Line several months later, KJ explained exactly what caused the injury. He said, QUOTE, “I wasn’t really punching the ice, but I got a bit too excited. I was punching a foam mat… [that was] sitting on the ice… it was cold, so I didn’t really feel it. It wasn’t until 20 minutes after that I realized I broke my hand. I didn’t tell anyone.” Uh… OUCH!
That isn’t all, though! Just last month KJ was also involved in a scary car accident when he fell asleep behind the wheel after a grueling day on set. Luckily, he was okay, but SERIOUSLY, this guy needs to be careful!
Now that’s it been a little while since both incidents, we assumed that KJ was doing much better, but based on the photo he posted just yesterday, we’re not so sure! Along with the photo of his busted up hand, he wrote, QUOTE, “I guess that’s what happens when you punch a bear in the face.”
Even though it’s unclear whether or not this was a totally separate incident—because to be honest, we’re hoping it’s just a throwback pic to his on-set injury—we’re glad to see he still has a sense of humor through it all. I mean, punching bears? Yeah, right!
